Safety
Guidelines

Ensuring the safety and health of our guests is our foremost priority. We adhere strictly to state and local social distancing guidelines, as well as rigorously enforce numerous health protocols.

Before arrival, guests are interviewed over the phone. We ask our guests whether they have recently traveled outside the state, as well as been tested regularly for COVID-19.

Other measures we undertake include, but are not limited to:

• sanitizing surfaces between seatings;
• deep cleaning common areas;
• providing digital, disposable, and sanitized menus;
• waitstaff wear masks and gloves during service;
• diners wear masks unless eating or drinking.

Locations

Our locations are chosen in the interest of architectural distinction, refined interior design, and commodious seating arrangements throughout New York City.

Our conviction is that personal spaces ought to be both virtually connected and physically enriching, even in the midst of social distancing.

At Maison Sun, we celebrate reminders that we dwell in a world we erstwhile knew, whilst gregarious experiences in our homes, formerly commonplace, will be so once again.

Philosophy

To borrow from E.B. White's quintessential memoirs in his masterpiece of travel writing “Here is New York” of 1949, New York City restaurants can utterly destroy an individual, or be entirely fulfilling, depending a good deal on luck. According to White's initial and most gallant summation of living in New York, “on any person who desires such queer prizes, New York bestows the gift of loneliness and the gift of privacy.”

The workforce of the service industry is made up of a gallimaufry group of strangers, mostly persons born outside the city, or better, as White aptly puts it, “persons who have pulled up stakes somewhere and come to town, seeking sanctuary or fulfillment, or some greater or lesser grail.” The capacity to offer such dubious gifts is a peculiar and mysterious quality. Perhaps that is the wonder of working in Restaurant City.

We discover that our longings are universal, that our solitude is not forlorn. We belong.
